No matter what the pain or problem is, Easter is the answer.
I know it’s a bold statement – but please, hear me out.
Whether it’s deep inside where eyes can’t see or etched in scars impossible to miss; whether it’s the pain we bring on ourselves or the hurt we endure from others; whether it’s failure, mourning, guilt, depression, exhaustion, heartache, anxiety, anger, resentment, disappointment, shame, or anything else –
Easter is the answer!
Easter is where death was answered with life.
Everything that’s wrong with this life is the shadow cast on us by the tomb that awaits. This has been true for every human being since the beginning. Never has death not been the final sentence at the end of life’s hurts.
Never, that is, until Jesus Christ.
He lived a life filled with sorrow and sadness. He experienced the pain of this broken world. He understood mourning and heartache, anxiety and disappointment, even shame (our shame) – but death was not the final word. Though he died, he returned to life!
He now lives again!
Every pain Jesus Christ endured – even death – has been fully answered with life. Jesus was dead; but on Easter, he lived again! And he lives today still, every pain turned from sighing to singing, every scar transformed from grief to glory.
